We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Esmond Mok to share his 32-year experience in the marketing field, emphasizing the importance of passion, consumer sensitivity, leadership and teamwork, adaptability and a change mindset. He is the Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing in HK and Consumer, Private and Business Banning Marketing in Asia at Standard Chartered Bank.

During the event, Esmond elaborated on some of his projects, how he led the marketing campaigns of different products, such as cosmetic products, feminine products, toiletries, etc. and brand building in the banking industry.

Tips for marketing:

    • using pocket tissue as an example – focused message; sell the superior features only
    • using the banking industry as an example – understand the brand character: approachable, pragmatic, etc.
    • using shampoo as an example – sell the brand image itself: professional as in the salon, trendy, etc.

Last but not least, he shared his secret of staying young – workout frequently, and do things that you are passionate about.

The takeaways of this sharing are far beyond the way to become a top marketer, every participant benefited greatly from Esmond’s attitudes as well.
