Rain Can’t Dampen Spirits At MBA Happy Hour
On 20 May, an MBA Happy Hour was held in insomnia, in Lan Kwai Fong, with over 80 MBA students, alumni and faculty members spending an enjoyable evening together as the first red rainstorm signal of the year had everyone running for cover!
The weather was unable to dampen the mood of the participants. Prof. Michael Ferguson, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) & Director of MBA Programs, kicked off the event with his welcoming remarks, “I’m glad to be here to meet the students and alumni despite the heavy rain and thunderstorm. What an interesting day! Please take this opportunity to relax and get to know each other. These situations are an effective way to strengthen our MBA community, so please enjoy the food, drinks and networking tonight.” He then led a toast with our special guests: Mr. Armstrong Lee, President of the MBA Alumni Association; Mr. Simon Wong, President of the EMBA Alumni Association; and Mr. Rocky Lok, former President of the MBA Alumni Association.
The lounge was filled with chat and laughter throughout the evening. Participants, from a diverse range of backgrounds, appreciated the opportunity to network with each other while enjoying delicious bar snacks and unlimited drinks in a casual setting. The highlight came when a group photo was taken to capture the memorable occasion.
Being able to reach out and network with industry experts from different sectors within the wide alumni community is a unique feature of the MBA program. Organised by the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office, Happy Hour events are held regularly to connect MBA alumni and students in an informal setting. We look forward to seeing more MBA alumni at forthcoming MBA CONNECT events!
