Alibaba Group
Today in Hong Kong, tomorrow in Beijing, the day after returning to Singapore where he is based before going on to Indonesia, Morden Chen is hard to catch these days. Having started his new job with Alibaba Group three months ago, he is busy fulfilling his dream of working for one of the largest tech companies and covering huge potential markets as the company goes international.

One of the secrets of his success lies in the fact that he chose his goal early and has kept his eyes on the prize all this time. “During my university studies, I already felt that the Internet could change lives and took some relevant courses,” says Morden, who started out as a foreign languages and literature graduate and today he is Alibaba Group’s General Manager, Mobile Monetization, UC Ads......

Antoinette Catonia Mia Bailey Scoops the MBA Student of the Year Award at the AMBA Excellence Awards 2018

Antoinette Catonia Mia Bailey, a social entrepreneur with 10 years management from our MBA Program won the MBA Student of the Year Award at the Annual AMBA Gala Dinner and MBA Excellence Awards.
During the study, she founded the InterMBA Asia initiative to create a sharing economy between Hong Kong’s best and brightest Business Schools, and led multiple fundraising projects for social enterprises. She has a proven track record in innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and social enterprise.

Employment Report for Full-time MBA Graduates 2017

For the Class of 2017, some exciting and encouraging numbers continue to inspire us to strive for future success. 88% of students secured job offers in Asia and an amazing employment rate at 98% was a sign of achievement by our MBA graduates.

Release of 2019 Resume Book of MBA Program

The Career Management Center has published the Resume Book 2019 which features 71 profiles of MBA talents from 14 locations. These talents have come together to get themselves geared up at CUHK Business School for career advancement and new business adventures. Many of them will be taking up internships and full-time jobs in the near future.  

CUHK Business School Alumni Gathering in Shenzhen

On Jan 27, the CUHK Business School Shenzhen Alumni Association held its annual gathering in Shenzhen’s bustling Futian District. More than 180 alumni from different industries and sectors attended, along with various representatives from CUHK and the Business School. The event began with lunch and updates on the alma mater. Next, attendees headed to the Shenzhen Finance Institute for Fintech Forum with the theme “New Age, New Technology, New Finance”. Several prominent guests spoke at the forum, followed by an interactive panel discussion.

Singapore Career Trek 2018
During Jan 31 – Feb 2, the student-led Singapore Trek 2018 successfully connected a group of 12 enthusiastic MBA students with 7 leading companies across technology, consulting & finance. Students had a chance of exploring career opportunities and understanding working environments from several renowned companies including Apple, Microsoft, DHL Consulting, Sia Partners Consulting, EY Fintech, Cognizant and Standard Chartered Bank.

Casey, Jr., former Chief of Staff of the US Army & Distinguished Senior Lecturer of Leadership at the SC Johnson College of Business, Cornell University. In this event, he will discuss his viewpoints on leading in today’s volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world, values-based decision making, shaping culture and international leadership.

China Business Knowledge @ CUHK Luncheon Series: Why Team Diversity Matters and How to Manage it
At the next China Business Knowledge @ CUHK Luncheon Series on March 22, attendees will learn about workplace diversity with Prof. Dora Lau of the Department of Management. During her talk, Prof. Lau will discuss how diversity is perceived differently in Chinese companies and how to make the most out of diverse teams to achieve success. Alumnus Mr. Alan Yip, Chairman and CEO of Guru Online, will discuss how he works with the young generation in his company and how diversity helps his teams thrive.
