Invitation to CUHK MBA CSR Conference 2018

Proudly marching into its 11th year in 2018, the student-led CSR conference aims to create a sharing platform to discuss trends and development of CSR in Asia. The theme of this year’s conference is CSR∞: Sustaining CSR Indefinitely gathering industry experts, academia and NGOs to share their views and experience, in order to draw useful insights to sustain CSR indefinitely.

CUHK MBA Students Receive Graduate Business Forum Student Leadership Award 2018

Our MBA students were recognized for making a significant impact within the graduate business community and won the prestigious Graduate Business Forum (GBF) Student Leadership Award 2018. The award was presented at the Graduate Business Conference of the GBF hosted by Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.
Mr. Marshall Jen (Class of 2019) says, “I'd like to thank CUHK for their nomination as well as to congratulate the Graduate Business Forum for their continuous success for over 30 years. We were very inspired by nominees from all over the world. Although we took home the award, I feel that anyone could have won it.”

CUHK MBA Spring Study Tour to Tokyo

A group of MBA students joined a four-day spring study tour to Tokyo from March 28 – 31 to understand and explore the business landscapes and developments in Japan. Students visited four top Japanese corporations including Fast Retailing (which owns UNIQLO), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Takeda Pharmaceutical and Sony Corporation. 

Distinguished Speaker Session by Mr. Peter Shumlin, Former Governor of Vermont

On March 14, CUHK MBA Student Association organized the Speaker Session and invited Mr. Peter Shumlin (former Governor of Vermont) to share his leadership experience and insights on the importance of social enterprises and entrepreneurship.
As a governor, he worked on progressive policies in the State such as guaranteeing universal pre-kindergarten education, passing a mandatory labeling law for genetically modified foods and achieving universal health care coverage. Invited by former President Obama, he also led on climate change and pushed for global climate agreement in Paris Climate Summit.
Through this event, students understood his leadership challenges and how to use different approaches for overcoming obstacles.

China Business Knowledge @ CUHK Luncheon Series: How CSR Changes Our Behavior and Society
At the next China Business Knowledge @ CUHK Luncheon Series on May 15, Prof. Cao Jie, Associate Professor of the Finance Department, will discuss various issues related to corporate social responsibility (CSR), including its effects on institutions’ investments. Ms. Diana Tsui, Head of Global Philanthropy, Asia Pacific, J.P. Morgan, will talk about the challenges of creating meaningful CSR initiatives and share how she helps her team make the world a better place.
