Study Plan

Part-time MBA

The Part-time MBA curriculum consists of core and elective courses. Core course carries 3 units while elective course carries 1.5 or 3 units. Each academic year is divided into three regular terms and a summer term. To graduate, part-time students are required to complete 51 units. The part-time curriculum normally takes 24 months to complete.

Learning Modes

To fit into part-time students’ busy lives, we provide courses in two flexible formats to maximize your learning and balance between study, work and family.

Face-to-face Course

Students meet on CUHK’s main campus from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Saturday (or Sunday) for two classes. One class is conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the other from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Elective courses may be offered on weekday evenings at the Town Centre in Central or weekends on CUHK’s main campus.

Selected courses in Term 1 and 3 could be completed in 3 to 5 days during intensive week.

Flex MBA Course (50% On-campus | 50% Online)

For Flex MBA courses, part of the regular scheduled in-class time is presented online while preserving in-class teacher-to-student and student-to-student interactions as a significant and necessary course component.

Students are required to complete weekly pre-recorded lectures delivered by course teacher as well as other interactive online activities as instructed, and attend intensive classes conducted by course teacher on campus every few weeks.

 

Study Plan

The typical study period of part-time program is 24 months. Students may extend the study period up to 48 months to meet their individual needs. The recommended study plan below applies to all part-time students regardless of course mode.
