The Free-spirited CEO

Ming Wong
CEO/ Lotus Innovative Health Ltd (HK) & Lotus Innovative Sciences Inc. (US)
(Full-time Class of 2010)

"I see myself as somewhat of a free spirit, so I hope to continue being able to work in Hong Kong or possibly other parts of the world while continuing to develop and discover new and exciting projects that can benefit the world. Maybe even finding some kindred spirit or spirits who also share the same beliefs and values as I do, and we can continue to do what we feel is right, is good, and makes us happy."

CUHK MBA Class of 2016 Ball
A fun and glamorous ball organised by the Student Association of CUHK MBA Class of 2016 was held on 31 May at the W Hotel in Tsimshatsui. It was attended by over 90 MBA full-time students as well as faculty members including Prof. Kalok Chan, Dean of the CUHK Business School; Prof. Michael Ferguson, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) & Director of MBA Programs; Mr. Lawrence Chan, Director of Marketing and Student Recruiting for MBA Programs; and Ms. Florence Lai, the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director.

The annual ball kicked off with an opening speech by Prof. Chan, followed by welcome remarks from Prof. Ferguson. In the elegant ballroom, illuminated by colorful beam lights, eight banquet tables were packed with students in charming evening attire, all excited by the joyful occasion and full of hopes for advancing their professional life.

A group photo of everyone in attendance brought out the cohort’s collaborative team spirit and ensured the sumptuous dinner buffet was enjoyed in a warm and cheerful atmosphere. In addition to fun-filled games and competitions, most intriguing was a range of entertaining performances showcasing the talent of students of many different ethnic origins. Indian and Korean singing and dancing, for example, generated thunderous applause from the floor. The enchanting performances amply demonstrated the diversity of the international students taking part in our MBA program.

Prof. Michael Ferguson said, “I would like to thank the students for their time, efforts and creativity in putting together a wonderful evening. The agenda truly showcases their energy, team spirit and collaboration. They should be proud of being members of a great team, with diverse nationalities and backgrounds, who have come together in an inspiring and memorable learning journey.” Ms. Florence Lai added: “I am glad to be here tonight to meet all soon-to-be MBA alumni finishing the full-time course. I look forward to their support in making our alumni community bigger and stronger.”

Tianjin and Beijing Trip

A group of students went to Tianjin and Beijing to conduct a series of company visits including Yakult, Master Kong Drinks, Xin'Ao Group, Tencent, Baidu, Jones Day, Lenovo, and Chinese All.
"The study trip to Tianjin and Beijing has broaden my view of doing business in China. I haven't had much chance to know more about the business practice in China before, but during the whole trip, I was able to visit the local Chinese companies and understand their culture and expansion strategies in both local and international market, to meet the professors in Tsinghua and Peking University to deepen my understanding of Chinese government, and to network with the local MBA students. It was a fruitful trip for everyone and a great opportunity for us to enjoy our time in Beijing!"shared by Candy Chiu, Full-time student of Class of 2016, who participated in the trip.
