GBA HR Symposium & CAP Scheme Kick-Off Ceremony 2025

The GBA HR Symposium (the “GHS”) is the signature event under the P-Pillar of the CUHK MBA’s LEAP Programme. As Asia strengthens its position as a global economic powerhouse, GHS aims to equip participants with the essential personal and career development knowledge and skills needed to thrive in this dynamic environment. Held annually in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), this symposium focuses on contemporary Human Resources (HR), career development challenges and opportunities faced by the CUHK MBA students and graduates in the context of the Asian Century. By fostering engaging discussions on diverse HR expectations and innovative talent strategies, the symposium enhances participants’ understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the region. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with HR experts and thought leaders, gaining invaluable insights that will empower them to navigate their careers effectively and make meaningful contributions to the evolving workplace in Asia. The pilot of the GHS will be launched on 28 April 2025, at the CUHK Business School, featuring Mr Francis Mok (EMBA 1995), the former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management, as the inaugural speaker in the CUHK MBA’s GHS series.
The Career Accelerating Programme (the “CAP Scheme”) is one of the outcome-based LEAP Schemes under the P-Pillar of the CUHK MBA’s LEAP Programme. The CAP Scheme is a pioneering personal and career development initiative tailored exclusively for CUHK MBA students and recent graduates. It aims to enhance their personal and career intelligence and readiness, and to nurture future business leaders poised for success in the evolving business landscape in the Asian Century.

Mr Francis Mok is a seasoned Management Consultant, Executive Coach and corporate Human Resources professional with over 30 years of experience across industries such as logistics, real estate, insurance, trading, and transportation. He specialises in Leadership Development, Talent Management, HR Consulting, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, and Organisational Development.
An accredited facilitator in Anecdote Storytelling for Leaders and Story Powered Sales, Francis is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at HKU SPACE, where he shares his expertise with aspiring professionals. As the past president of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management, he has played a pivotal role in advancing HR practices in the region.

Professor Ye Qiang is a Doctoral Supervisor and the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He serves as the Principal Investigator of the National Innovation Group Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has been recognised as a Highly Cited Chinese Scholar by Elsevier (2015 – 2022). Currently, he holds positions as the Executive Dean of the School of Management, the Dean of the International Institute of Finance, and the Executive Dean of the School of Technology and Business at the University of Science and Technology of China.

Mr Wong served in P&G, M&M/ Mars, Kellogg, Pepsi-cola, HK Airport Authority and HK Electric to manage its local and regional/global business during the last 35 years. KM has lived in Geneva, Canada, Malaysia/ Singapore, mainland China and Hong Kong. He is very experienced in coaching fresh graduates to improve their resume writing and interview skills, and refer students to his contacts in CPA firms and some banks/ financial institutions if desired.
- Ms Rose Yeung (MBA 2002) | CUHK MBA’s Career Doctor, CAP Scheme; Marketing Director, Fairwood Holdings Limited
Rose is a strategic and all-round sales & marketing practitioner, managing a wide array of sales, marketing and corporate communication functions in FMCG, RETAIL and TRAVEL sectors’ leading brands including Fairwood, Ocean Park, 7-Eleven, Circle K, Watson’s, MARS, M&M’s, Aquascutum and Ashworth. Creative and always thinking out of the box, Rose is an early adopter in social media and digital marketing, and these initiatives have been translated to strong Top of Mind and Brand Equity for 7-Eleven in recent years. She has further extended her creativity in rebranding Ocean Park as Edutainment Resort and Night Chill Out Hub, with upcoming hotel and waterpark development.

Teddy Liu was the General Manager of the Corporate and Talent Development Department at New World Development Company Limited, where he oversaw corporate strategy, management systems, process improvement, and business reviews. He also served as the Head of Group Internal Audit, managing corporate governance, risk, and internal audits. With over 20 years of experience in business management, Mr Liu has an adept understanding of strategic improvement, financial management, risk management, and corporate governance. His recent venture, MentorsHub, underscores his commitment to nurturing emerging leaders through targeted training and mentorship.
