In this latest installment, we are thrilled to announce our distinguished guest at Professor Luxi Shen’s Marketing Management lecture – Mr Christoph Meyer, the General Manager of Hong Kong, South China, and Macau at Lufthansa Group. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the CUMBA Alumni Association (GBA Chapter) for organizing the highly successful MBA Alumni Gathering. The event brought together a fantastic group of alumni, creating a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.

One of the highlights of the gathering was the opportunity for participants to visit two prominent companies in Shenzhen. What made these visits truly special was the fact that both companies were founded by our CUHK Business School entrepreneur alumni. It was inspiring to witness the tremendous growth and success achieved by our alumni, and we are immensely proud of their accomplishments. The visits provided a unique chance for attendees to gain firsthand insights into the entrepreneurial journey, witnessing the innovative strategies and business models implemented by our alumni. It was a testament to the quality of education and the entrepreneurial spirit fostered within our community.

To conclude the event on a high note, a networking dinner was organized, providing a platform for alumni to reconnect, forge new connections, and strengthen existing relationships. It was an honor to have such an esteemed guest and mentor share his insights with our community. The event brought together a diverse audience comprising both current students and recent graduates, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of learning and growth. Dr Paul Sin’s expertise and experience provided invaluable guidance to all attendees. Here are some key takeaways from Dr Sin:

The panel discussion that follows was hosted by Professor Anthony Yang, Associate Professor of Practice in Finance at the Department of Finance, CUHK Business School. Joining him were esteemed panelists Mr Raphaël BEAUDREY, Director of Rosemont Management (Mauritius) Ltd, Mr Vinay Guddye, and Mr Raymond Lo, Board Adviser of CUHK MBA Programmes. Their collective expertise in finance explored the exciting possibilities of Hong Kong-Mauritius collaboration in a business setting. The panel shed light on the advantages that Mauritius offers, including no foreign exchange controls, a competitive fiscal regime, and free repatriation of profits, dividends, and capital. Mauritius is eager to strengthen its fintech journey with Hong Kong, especially after the recent launch of its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
