CUHK MBA MasterClass “The Current State of The Global Economy” by Prof. CHONG Tai Leung, Terence
Prof Terence Chong is Associate Head of New Asia College, Executive Director of Lau Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics, Finance, and Co-Director of Global Economics and Finance Program and associate professor of Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof Chong received his Bachelor degree in Economics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1991, and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester in 1995. His main research area is financial econometrics. He has published over 1000 articles in international journals and newspapers covering a wide spectrum of topics in Econometrics, Finance, Mathematics, Psychology, Education and the Chinese Economy. Prof. Chong ranks top 37th worldwide in theoretical econometrics,top 1% in terms of number of distinct works and number of journal pages, and top 5% economists worldwide (RePEc).
Prof. Chong is dedicated to community service. Professor Chong was awarded the Medal of Honour by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region in 2022 in recognition of his dedicated and valuable contributions to the development of trade and industry in Hong Kong.

Ms Fanny Chan (MBA 2001)
Chief Human Resources Officer, Chow Tai Fook Life Insurance
With over 20 years of cross-functional experience in global and Chinese financial institutions, Ms. Chan is a passionate HR leader. She possesses a proven track record in Human Resources and Corporate Administration across various business units in the financial services industry, encompassing retail banking, corporate banking, investment banking, and private banking. As a visionary and agile senior executive, she previously served at the Human Resources, Corporate Administration, Corporate Communications, CEO Office, and Special Projects at China Everbright Bank Hong Kong Branch. She successfully established the HR and Admin function from scratch and played a pivotal role in setting up the new branch in Hong Kong. She is currently with Chow Tai Fook Life Insurance Company Limited as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Additionally, she holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is member of HKIB, HKIOD, and HKIHRM.
Ms Anita Ngai (MBA 2005)
Regional Head, Compliance Regulations Management Director, Citi Hong Kong
As the Regional head of Regulations Management in Citi, Ms. Ngai is responsible for regulations management activities from all regulators covering 18 countries in the region. She has been with the bank for 16 years and in various roles ranging from Compliance, Risk Management, Transformation, and front office in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea.
