I chose Hong Kong to study an MBA at CUHK because of its status: on the cusp of mainland China, but with independence that it could act as a gateway to the rest of the world. The tech hub of Shenzhen is also right next door. I was really amazed at what’s going on there, and how the fintech scene is becoming much more popular in Hong Kong itself.

CUHK MBA gave me the foundation in finance, accounting, and corporate management to co-found and run Lineverge – a now healthy Hong Kong-based software company.

CUHK MBA gave me the experience and knowledge I needed for my AI startup. I gained investors, undertook robust entrepreneurship training and learned about consulting and pitching. The professors’ passionate support and connections were instrumental to the founding of my chatbot platform and my being placed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2020 List.

I have a long-term objective mainly related to the network and the people. However, in the short term, the MBA offered me the chance to understand the market better, challenge myself with people with different traditions and perspectives, and to understand what my limits are and challenge them.

I’m particularly impressed by CUHK MBA’s competitive edge over similar programmes in the realm of entrepreneurship. It takes a holistic view and looks at different aspects of running a business. Studying at the CUHK also serves as a very useful stepping stone for me to understand Mainland China, a huge market that everybody wishes to unlock its rich potential.

Enabling me to immerse myself in a new culture and region of the world from where I grew up, while earning my MBA and studying in a truly global environment, CUHK set the path for my international career.

Vital for my development both personally and professionally, my time on CUHK’s well- structured MBA means I am now far better prepared for advancement in today’s challenging business environment.

CUHK not only gave me great skills in management and finance, it also provided me with a great networking experience. In Hong Kong, you don’t only get a high quality of education, you also expose to the international financial hub and have the diversity with your classmates.

At CUHK MBA, there are amazing professors and opportunities to participate in a lot of competitions and field trips. Not only we learn skills and knowledge from the courses, but we also get the cultural connection and alumni network.

The MBA helped me achieve my objectives for a career change. The curriculum equipped me with the right technical skills needed for roles outside of the construction industry while the numerous networking and training opportunities brushed up my soft skills immensely.

I wanted to build a wider network and acquire new insights to foster my business idea, so it was natural for me to join the CUHK MBA, which has the longest history and the biggest alumni network in Hong Kong. The international financial centre is also the gateway to mainland China, which presents huge potential for my business.

The MBA curriculum at CUHK caught my eye because of its focus on entrepreneurship and on China business, allowing me to understand the Chinese market, one of the biggest consumer markets in the world and to grasp knowledge for the requisite building blocks of an
entrepreneurial venture.

What I like about CUHK MBA is the relatively small but hugely competitive environment. Students come from a diversity of backgrounds and everyone has something to learn from each other. The strong bonds that were created amongst us make my MBA experience unforgettable.

I praised the CUHK MBA for helping me to identify my interest in the field of consultancy. Credit also goes to the strong CUHK MBA network both in Hong Kong and beyond and this network can almost take you anywhere you want to go!

CUHK has the biggest range of alumni of all the schools in Hong Kong and that gives me a huge advantage when it comes to entrepreneurship, which I eventually want to pursue. As a Thai person, Hong Kong is almost as unique as it is hard to penetrate — it drove me to challenge myself to succeed in this highly competitive yet prosperous and educational landscape. CUHK is a grand platform.

I thanked the CUHK for connecting me to the local and regional business communities. Given my engineering background and the training I received at the CUHK, I think it won’t take long for me to achieve my goal!

This MBA journey was like an eye-opening for me – looking at things from different perspectives, learning to work with people from different cultures, values and experience. I have made connections to the other side of the world through study trips to US & China and participating in case competitions with Business Schools in Europe. I’ve learnt to understand each other’s difference, how to embrace them in order to cultivate into a more valuable environment or business.

CUHK MBA alumni and the relationships I had built with the FinTech community via the FinTech Association of Hong Kong helped me immensely. I got a couple of job offers before graduating. MBA shaped my personal and professional life in so many aspects and looking back, I think I’ve made the best decision coming to CUHK.

With its many China-focused courses, CUHK MBA has given me the desired insights into how the Chinese financial market operates and the transformation is going through to get ahead in the international markets. I also learned from peers from different cultural and professional backgrounds is a definite advantage of the programme, as it provides lots of opportunities for students to work with and lead different groups of people, preparing for their careers.

CUHK’s outstanding faculty helped me develop my business understanding of the finance industry. It was this knowledge, and what I learned on my MBA, which enabled me to land my job at HSBC. Moreover, the MBA was a substantial undertaking that required a huge level of discipline, making me more determined, dedicated, and more conscious about my ambitious.

It was a fresh experience for me at CUHK MBA. I need to open up to others. When things go wrong, always reflect on yourself but never let negative sentiments dominate! CUHK’s comprehensive MBA curriculum also has played a crucial role in brushing up my soft skills.
