Company Visit to BYD

As a global leader in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, BYD has become known for its groundbreaking battery technology and broad product lineup. Continually pushing the frontiers of new energy vehicles, BYD plays a crucial role in transforming and advancing the sector through innovations like the DM-i Super Hybrid system and Blade Battery. The company’s ongoing focus on technology and market leadership has solidified its position as an industry powerhouse in clean energy and mobility.

Professor Sean Zhou, Head of the Decision, Operations, and Technology Management Department, led MBAers on an immersive corporate visit to BYD Group Headquarters. This experience included a tour of the BYD exhibition hall, where students explored the company’s range of new energy vehicles and cutting-edge technologies. In an interactive session, students engaged with senior BYD executives including Yin Zhenlong, Wang Na, Zhang Peng, and Qu Yang, who shared insights on BYD’s technological advancements and answered questions about industry challenges and opportunities.

During the visit, BYD’s management emphasized the company’s extensive R&D capabilities, including 11 dedicated technology research institutes that bolster its innovation pipeline and supply chain management. They explained how BYD collaborates with top international automotive brands to expand the reach and influence of new energy vehicles globally. Reflecting on the visit, MBA student Kenneth Lo noted that BYD’s commitment to embracing competition exemplifies how both corporations and individuals can drive growth and lasting success by continuously adapting in a rapidly evolving market.
