CUHK MBA Family Day
The MBA office hosted its annual Family Day. Belying the idyll of an autumn afternoon, the program’s students, faculty, staff and their intimates congregated beneath maple bowers at the Chung Chi Staff Club. Over shared platters of siu mai and har gow, the disparate branches of the MBA family tree intermingled as students introduced far-flung relations to Associate Dean of MBA Programmes Prof. Wan Wongsunwai and other learned faculty. Equally, foreign exchange students partook in meeting aunts, uncles, and relatives hitherto unknown.
The coming together of this far-flung academic tribe fostered interaction across divides of role, place, and generation. Multilingual mingling over tea fostered affinity where previously had lain aloofness. We are grateful to all clansfolk who took part in this celebration of the personal alliances enhancing our scholars’ pursuits. May events like these, in leavening scholarship with fellowship, remind us that diversity, when joined with community, enriches our experiences immeasurably.
