CUHK MBA Field Trip to Chengdu

Another group of MBA students went on a 5-day trip to Chengdu, China with a mission to gain a deeper understanding of the China business practices and its development in recent years. Topics including agriculture, healthcare, IT, e-commerce, logistics and management practices were covered through a variety of company visits and seminars held by faculty members of local institutions.
An introduction was made at the Sichuan University. Local professors shared their views on a number of management approaches that worked well in Western countries but not in China.
Followed by a number of insightful site visits to different industries to enhance the learning experience:
1) Jingrong StartUp Hub – home of a number of hi tech Start-Ups
2) Tencent Chengdu Incubator
3) Hongtu Logistics
4) University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC)
5) New Hope Dairy
6) Sichuan Captain Information Technology
And 7) Kerry Logistics
What our student has to say?
Marshall JEN (Year 1 Part-time Student & President of Student Association 2018):
“To be honest, I have never thought that Chengdu is such a great city for entrepreneurs and innovation development. It was very clever for the professor to pick a city in this country that isn’t always mentioned. To a certain extent, there are more opportunities in Chengdu than Shanghai and Beijing. By acknowledging the city’s potential, it also adds value to the individual’s learning. My greatest gain from this trip was the platform that connected me with China’s MBA students (not just Chengdu’s but students and alumnus in the China MBA Association).”
