GBA HR Symposium & CAP Scheme Kick-Off Ceremony

CUHK MBA is thrilled to launch its Career Doctor Consultation Initiative on 28 April 2025, marking the official launch of the Career Accelerating Programme (CAP Scheme)—an outcome-based career development scheme under the LEAP Programme!

The CAP Scheme is a pioneering personal and career development initiative tailored exclusively for CUHK MBA students and recent graduates. It aims to enhance their personal and career intelligence and readiness, nurturing future business leaders poised for success in the evolving business landscape in the Asian Century.

Three Pillars of the CAP Scheme:

  • C-Pillar: Career Competency Building – Focusing on developing essential career skills and strategies.
  • A-Pillar: Accelerating Career Experience – Accelerating career experience through industry and enterprise immersion or tasting opportunities.
  • P-Pillar: Personal Skills Development – Enhancing self-awareness, leadership, and interpersonal effectiveness.

We are proud to announce Professor Victoria Wang, Mr Teddy Liu, Mr KM Wong, and Ms Rose Yeung as the inaugural Career Doctors of the Career Doctor Consultation Initiative under the C-Pillar of the CAP Scheme. As accomplished senior executives, faculty members, and CUHK alumni, they bring a wealth of expertise to mentor our MBA students and recent graduates.

Each Career Doctor will design a personalised 3-4-month Career Consultation Plan for selected participants, helping them refine their career paths and achieve their professional aspirations. These tailored plans may include career consultation sessions, executive coaching, and personalised career training, each with a unique focus based on the participant’s needs.

Mr Francis Mok (EMBA 1995), the former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management, delivered the inaugural keynote speech in the first CUHK MBA’s GBA Human Resource Symposium (GHS) on 28 April 2025.

The GHS is one of the four signature events of the CUHK MBA’s LEAP Programme. Held annually in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), this symposium focuses on contemporary Human Resources (HR) and career development challenges and opportunities faced by the CUHK MBA students and graduates in the context of the Asian Century.

Event Highlights:

  • Keynote by Mr Francis Mok (EMBA, 1995):

Francis’s compelling presentation titled “Navigating the Asian Century: MBA Career Development in the New Business Landscape” captivated the audience with powerful insights. His analysis of emerging HR trends, leadership imperatives, and talent innovation resonated deeply with the audience, offering practical strategies for leveraging opportunities for advancement and navigating careers in Asia’s future workplace.

  • Panel Discussion by Career Doctors:

An inspiring panel discussion session themed “Unlocking Success: Exploring Personal and Career Development through the CAP Scheme” was also held, with the insights from our pioneering CUHK MBA’s Career Doctors, Professor Victoria Wang, Mr Teddy Liu, Mr KM Wong and Ms Rose Yeung.

The LEAP (Leadership Experience through Active Participation) Programme is a transformative, lifelong learning journey of the CUHK MBA that extends beyond campus and graduation. Powered by CUHK MBA’s BEAM initiative, this program leverages the expertise of our distinguished alumni network and other key stakeholders to deliver unparalleled professional development opportunities.
