CUHK MBA students shared Warren Buffett’s Investment Doctrine in Now TV Interview
Current MBA students Sunny Choi and Ignacio Wong were interviewed by Now TV Business News Channel 333’s Wealth Management 《理財有方》 program on their experience of meeting the legendary investor Warren Buffett in his hometown Omaha, Nebraska, the United States last November.
Along with 15 other CUHK MBA students, Choi and Wong were joined by about 160 students from seven other business schools in the United States, and felt honored to be the only ones from an Asian university selected for this prestigious event.
Both Choi and Wong have been inspired by the meeting with Mr. Buffett. During the interview, they shared their impression of the 84-year-old man as being extremely humble, easily approachable, down to earth and has a good sense of humor. Choi said that “Mr. Buffett had used the example of playing bridge to advise us that we should look forward to each new game instead of dwelling on the failure of the previous games.”
Warren Buffett lives by a certain set of values that he uses to invest and make other life decisions. He is a genuine supporter of “value investing,” which means understanding a company’s intrinsic value and investing only in companies you know and trust. Commenting on the recent turbulent situation in the Hong Kong and China stock markets, Wong echoed his own views on “value investing,” saying that investors should focus on a company’s intrinsic value and future earning power such as management quality, as well as market and industry prospects, rather than being influenced by short-term market frustrations when deciding whether to hold or sell a stock…
